With the upcoming 4.6 version ONYX adjusts its licensing structure.
These changes will not affect users of ONYX USB or NETRON Ether-DMX devices, and all existing Wings and Keys continue to support their current Universe licenses.
Available for order is also the new ONYX Essential Key, which is the perfect way for anyone requiring unlocked EtherDMX data or I/O Protocol support at a lower price.

1. ONYX Free
Without an ONYX USB-DMX or NETRON device attached the software runs in FREE mode. All patching and programming are possible without restrictions for all 128 Universes.
- Universe 1 is completely free to use for Artnet and sACN protocols
- 2 Dylos Zones are enabled. Additional Zones show a random watermark
- OSC Playback, MIDI and all Timecode protocols can be enabled for a short time period for testing and evaluation without delays and restrictions. Once the allowed time is expired ONYX must be restarted to reallow a new test period.
- No third-party USB devices are supported
2. Onyx Nova
With an ONYX USB or NETRON device detected ONYX unlocks 4 Universes.
Connected Touch or Play devices will also remove all I/O protocol restrictions.
3. Onyx Essential Key
This encrypted USB key unlocks 8 Universes of DMX, 2 Dylos Zones and removes all restrictions for Midi, Timecode and OSC
3. Onyx Premier Key
This encrypted USB key unlocks 64 Universes of DMX, 5 Dylos Zones and removes all restrictions for Midi, Timecode and OSC
4. ONYX Elite
This upgrade for ONYX Premier Keys and NX Wings enables a total of 128 Universes and can be programmed remotely by Obsidian Control Systems.
Notes: USB devices for NOVA level: NX DMX, NX Touch, M-DMX, M-Touch, M-Play, all variants of Martin 2-Port USB-DMX
